My first real adventure bike. This beast started out as a stock XR650L, however after several crashes and with a Thumper Racing diet plan in hand, it was transformed into a fully modified woods and snow bike. Despite it’s weight this bike was a true go anywhere machine. I even ended up studding the tires and riding it on snowmobile trails in the winter. This bike served as my introduction to motorcycle mechanics, as I completed tire changes, valve checks, carb/jetting/exhaust changes, custom wiring and even a top end rebuild . This XR served the basis from which all of my future dual purpose bikes would be judged. |
